Climbing the Friendship Ladder
Every NPC has 4 friendship levels (0–3) and, for romanceable characters, 4 additional romance levels (0–3). Each new level unlocks special dialogue, a personal quest, and unique rewards. This guide lists all known level‑up thresholds and the prizes you’ll earn along the way.

Gift values: Loved gift = +50 points, Liked gift = +15 points, Neutral = +5 points, Hated = -10 points. Star quality gives +25% bonus.
💖 Romance Level Progression (Romanceable NPCs only)
After reaching Friendship Level 3, you can give a “Romance Pin” (crafted or bought from Zeki) to start the romance track. Romance levels are separate and add additional quests.

⏱️ Efficient Friendship Farming
- Give a loved gift every day – Check the NPC’s loved items list (previous guide) and farm/craft them in bulk.
- Complete weekly challenges – Many reward Renown, which can be traded for friendship boosters at the Dragon Shrine.
- Talk to each NPC once per day – Simply initiating conversation gives +2 points.
- Cook for them – Giving a cooked dish that is loved counts as a gift. Mass‑produce Celebration Cake for universal loved gift (almost everyone likes cake).
- Use Renown for the “Friendship Bonus” upgrade – At the Dragon Shrine, you can increase the base friendship gain by up to 50% for 200 Renown total.
🏆 Maximum Friendship Achievement
When you reach Friendship Level 4 with ALL 12 NPCs, you earn the title “Beloved of Palia” and a special reward: a Golden Pinwheel (housing decoration) and 500 Renown. If you also reach Romance Level 4 with all 9 romanceable NPCs, you unlock the “Heart of the Valley” title and a unique emote: “Group Hug”.
