Building Your Dream Homestead
Your home plot is your personal sanctuary in Palia. This guide explains how to claim your first plot, purchase additional land, and manage the decor limit to create a beautiful and functional homestead without running into space constraints.
🏠 Unlocking Your First Plot
- Quest requirement: Complete the early main quest “Your Little Plot of Land” (given by Kenli or Ashura after finishing tutorial).
- Location: The plot is located east of Kilima Village, marked by a “For Sale” sign.
- Cost: Free (first plot). You receive a basic tent, a workbench, and a small storage chest.
- Initial size: Approximately 15×15 tiles – enough for a small house, a few garden plots, and basic facilities.
💰 Buying Additional Land Plots
You can expand your homestead by purchasing adjacent land plots from the Kilima Town Hall (talk to Kenli). Each new plot adds roughly 10×10 tiles of buildable area.
| Plot Number | Cost (Gold) | Cumulative Cost | Total Buildable Area (approx) | Recommended Order |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2nd Plot (South) | 2,000g | 2,000g | ~250 tiles | 1st – garden expansion |
| 3rd Plot (North) | 5,000g | 7,000g | ~350 tiles | 2nd – animal pastures |
| 4th Plot (East) | 10,000g | 17,000g | ~450 tiles | 3rd – orchards/furniture yard |
| 5th Plot (West) | 20,000g | 37,000g | ~550 tiles | 4th – large builds |
| 6th+ (Premium) | 30,000g each | varies | +100 tiles each | Endgame luxury |
You can buy up to 10 additional plots (11 total). Each plot is separate but adjacent, allowing you to build a large continuous homestead.
📦 Decor Limit & Capacity
Every furniture, decoration, and building on your plot consumes Decor Units. The total limit starts at 3,000 units and increases as you expand your plot and increase your Renown level.
- Base limit: 3,000 units (enough for about 150-200 small items).
- Per additional plot purchased: +500 units.
- Renown upgrades: Spend 25 Renown at the Phoenix Shrine for +250 decor capacity (up to 5 times).
- Maximum achievable limit: 3,000 (base) + (10 plots × 500) + (5 × 250) = 8,250 units.
📊 Decor Point Cost Examples:
- Small decoration (flower pot, candle): 5–10 points
- Medium furniture (chair, table): 15–30 points
- Large furniture (bed, bookshelf): 50–100 points
- Building (house room, barn): 200–500 points
- Special epic items (e.g., Star Chart Globe): 1,000 points
⚙️ Alternative Ways to Expand Capacity
- Reach Decor Score milestones – Every 1,000 Decor Score increases your limit by 100 units (up to 1,000 bonus).
- Place “Storage Shed” building – This special building (crafted at Workbench, requires Lv 8 Furniture) adds +200 decor capacity.
- Complete achievements – “Hoarding Master” (place 500 items) and “Interior Designer” (reach 5,000 Decor Score) each give permanent +200 capacity.
💡 Land Management Tips
- Buy plots in order of need – South plot first (sunlight for crops), then North (animal pasture), then East/West for decoration.
- Use verticality – Build multi-story houses to save ground space for gardens and ranches.
- Leave pathways – Plan roads between plots to avoid tight corners when placing large furniture.
- Prioritize decor capacity upgrades – If you love decorating, spend Renown on capacity early.
