To cook advanced dishes, you need proper stations. The Basic Campfire is free, but real cooking starts with the Stove and Oven. This guide covers how to unlock each station, what materials they require, and how upgrading them improves your cooking success rate.
🔥 Basic Campfire
🍳 Stove – Unlock & Crafting
The Stove is your primary station for soups, stews, stir-fries, and boiling. It requires a workbench and mid-game materials.

🥧 Oven – Unlock & Crafting

🥄 Mixer & Prep Station
Some advanced recipes require a Mixer or Prep Station as an auxiliary station. They are not mandatory for basic cooking but enable certain dishes.
Mixer
- Unlock: Cooking Level 7
- Materials: 10 Iron Bar, 5 Copper Bar, 5 Glass
- Used for: Cake batters, dough, sauces
Prep Station
- Unlock: Cooking Level 4
- Materials: 10 Wood, 5 Copper Bar, 1 Knife (crafted)
- Used for: Chopping vegetables, preparing fish fillets
⬆️ Upgraded Stations
At higher Cooking levels, you can upgrade your Stove and Oven to better versions. Upgrades increase success rate and unlock new recipes.

🏠 Placement Tips & Multiplayer
- Indoor vs Outdoor: Stoves and ovens work anywhere, but placing them indoors (kitchen room) gives a +5% Focus bonus to dishes cooked inside.
- Group Cooking: If multiple players have upgraded stations, the group can use the highest-level station available. Good coordination reduces material waste.
- Storage Proximity: Place a storage chest or lockbox next to your cooking area to quickly restock ingredients without running across your plot.
- Aesthetic Bonus: Some decor items (e.g., hanging herbs, spice rack) provide a hidden +2% to cooking success rate when placed within 5 tiles of a stove or oven.
